Porcelain Veneers

Dr. Meden takes a detailed approach to color, texture, and appearance to achieve natural-looking and functional veneers.

What are veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin shells that, when placed over your natural teeth, can correct a variety of cosmetic issues. They are customized and made to look identical to your natural tooth enamel using high-quality porcelain. When applied with expertise, they are a permanent cosmetic solution resulting in a complete smile transformation.

BENEFITS OF VENEERS

Porcelain veneers are both aesthetically pleasing and functional as they protect the surface of a damaged tooth. They can replace the need for dental crowns, eliminating the need for more invasive tooth preparation. Because they are so thin, they often require little-to-no tooth reshaping when bonded onto the tooth. Once bonded into place, they are relatively strong and durable and can last a lifetime with proper care.

+ Fix appearance of chipped, stained, gapped or cracked teeth

Veneers vs. Composite Bonding

If you are contemplating getting veneers, you may have come across composite bonding or “prep-less” veneers as an option. While both options improve the aesthetics of your teeth, they differ significantly in terms of materials, aesthetics, and durability.

The Veneers Process

1.

Digital Impressions

Digital impressions are taken using a 3D digital scanner.

Temporaries

While your custom veneers are prepared, temporaries are applied.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin shells that, when placed over your natural teeth, can correct a variety of cosmetic issues such as worn tooth enamel, small or misshapen teeth, uneven tooth alignment or spacing, discoloration, and chips or cracks. They are customized and made to look identical to your natural tooth enamel using high-quality porcelain. When applied with expertise, they are a permanent cosmetic solution resulting in a complete smile transformation.

What is the veneers process?

The process for getting porcelain veneers is simple, painless, and typically done within two visits. During your first visit, your teeth will be prepared and temporaries will be placed letting you experience your new teeth and address any concerns before your permanent veneers are placed. Your second and final visit will be to place the final veneers and permanently bond them to your teeth. Any final adjustments will be made to make sure your bite is comfortable and you are satisfied with the results.

During a free consult, Dr. Meden can discuss your desired results and assess your candidacy for veneers. He will also obtain digital impressions and create a digital mockup of your new smile.

Who is a good candidate for veneers?

Veneers are a good option for those looking to cosmetically enhance their smile and improve or resolve one or more of the following issues:

  • Crooked teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Small teeth
  • Ground teeth
  • Stained, discolored, and yellow teeth
  • Misshapen teeth

Other individual factors that may impact candidacy are having good oral health and hygiene and sufficient tooth enamel. Dr. Meden will be able to assess if you are a good candidate for veneers during your free consult.

How much do veneers cost?

If you have been researching the cost of veneers, you’ve probably noticed the prices vary greatly. While porcelain veneers typically range between $1,500 to $3,500 (per veneer), it’s important to consider a few other key factors that influence cost:

  1. Quality of veneers
  2. Skill, training and experience of the doctor performing the work
  3. How many veneers will be done to achieve your desired results

When you choose Dr. Meden, you’re investing in quality work and quality results.

How long do veneers last?

Porcelain veneers are very durable and, on average, last for 15-25 years but can last a lifetime with proper care and maintenance. Like the rest of your teeth, to keep your them in top shape, you’ll need to brush and floss daily, visit your dentist for routine checkups, and avoid biting hard objects and foods directly. Practicing good oral hygiene daily is the best way to maintain your results long-term.
